An authentic
peasant farm, composed of a traditional building and a new one, located
in a quite zone of the village, near the Botiza river. The only noises
you will hear while dining in the grass-covered courtyard are the ones
of the horse-drawn carts passing in the street or rooster's singing
and the bells of the church calling the believers for the Sunday morning
service. The view of the hills covered with pastures and forest is delightful.
In the house is arranged an exhibition room, where you may see or buy
different Maramures rugs, made by your hostess herself.
Your hostess, an amiable person, will delight you with different local
gastronomic specialities and, if interested, will teach you the traditional
art of weaving.
Places: 10
Access by car: from
the centre of Botiza, before the bridge in front of the new church,
take left on a country road (there is a local pub just at the crossroad),
and follow Botiza river on its left shore. The guesthouse is on the
left side of the road, at about 250m from the pub.
