MARAMURES / IEUD / Guesthouse CHINDRIS

A guesthouse where tradition and modernity shake hands, located in the centre of Ieud, off the main road, in a quiet greenery place: forested pinked hills, meadows, flowers. From the windows you have the perspective of the tower of the wooden church, majestically looming from the tree crown. On Sundays, you can hear the church bell calling the people to the divine service. All around drifts a holy day atmosphere. The roads swarm with villagers, dressed in their traditional costume, humbly walking to the church.
Your hosts are teachers in the village and they will provide you every necessary piece of information about the region. Mr. Chindris can assure transportation and guiding for the main tourist highlights in Maramures. On your return at the guesthouse, Mrs. Chindris will welcome you with a good cake and a coffee, before displaying her gastronomic talent at dinner. You can also eat outside, under the grape arbour, breathing pure country air, accompanied by birds trilling and the village rustle.
After a stay in Ieud, more than ever will you feel that eternity was born in the village!

Access by car: from the centre of the village, passing by the Town Hall and by the school, turn right between the big stone church and the human health centre. At the crossroad there is a metal signing plate "Pensiunea CHINDRIS 20m"..

	- cultural guided tours in Maramures; hiking with or without guide on the neighbouring hills or at the sheepfold

	- visits of the local highlights or in the zone: the Village Museum, the Jewish Graveyard, the New Church, the Monument of local Heroes, traditional handcrafters of weaving or carpentry, forge and alembic, visit of the wooden churches: the Church on the Hill (1364) and the Church in the Valley (1717)
	- rides in a horse-drawn cart or sleigh
	- participation at the presentation of the local or regional costume and of the traditional dances
	- round trips along Vaser Valley in a forester little steam train
