A traditional
household, built in a German style, with the courtyard paved with river
stones, surrounded by hills. The perspective is charming, animated by
swallows' trilling, far coqs' crow and horse clatter happily, passing
on the street. On such a pastoral background taking dinner outside is
a true pleasure and you should not be amazed if the night will find
you still enjoying traditional dishes, attentively cooked by Mrs. Lapadat.
She will also relate you some customs of the region, for example how
weddings are going on in Marginimea Sibiului and she will direct you
to some locals where you will see functioning some objects also present
at the ASTRA Museum in Sibiu (the felting mill, the wooden oil press)
An unique occasion: you can go to a local who makes harness and to a
woman who weaves traditional carpets; she will teach you how to weave
at a weaving loom!
For a piece of bread cooked in a traditional oven, for a glass of wine
of the owner's cellar, but especially for your hosts' kindness you have
all the ingredients for a successful stay in Marginimea Sibiului!
Places: 6
Access by car: from the centre
of Gura Raului village, opposite the big church, turn right over the
